What you need to start banking digitally
Deposit a cheque
What you'll need
- A Simplii Financial bank account
- The latest version of the Simplii mobile banking app
- An endorsed cheque in Canadian dollars on which the name must match the one we have on file for this account
Mobile steps:
- Sign the back of the cheque and write “For deposit only”
- Sign on to the app
- Select “Mobile Deposits” from the top mobile carousel or “eDeposit” from the menu located on the left
- Use your phone's camera to take photos of your cheque
- Lay your cheque on a flat surface
- Take a photo of the front of the cheque
- Take a photo of the back of the cheque
- Confirm the amount of the cheque and select the account you’d like to deposit the money in
- Select “Next” and verify the details
- Mark the front of your cheque as, “Paid,” when you’re done and keep your cheque for at least 5 days and destroy within 120 days

Pay a bill
Add a payee steps:
- Sign on to your account through online banking
- Select “Pay Bills”
- Select “Add/Edit Bills”
- Search for the name of the company you want to pay
- Select the company from the list of results
- Enter the billing company’s account number and select “Next” to continue
- Verify the billing company and account number, and then select “Confirm” to continue
- Your billing company is now registered
Pay a bill steps:
- Select “Pay Bills”
- Select the Billing Company that you want to pay
- Enter the amount you want to pay and select “Continue”
- Verify the bill payment details and select “Confirm” to continue
- Your bill is now paid
Mobile
Add a payee steps:
- Sign on to the app
- Select “Bill Payments” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
- Select “Manage Billing Companies”
- Select “Add Billing Company”
- Search the name of the company you want to pay
- Select the company from the list of results
- Enter the billing company’s account number and select “Next” to continue
- Verify the billing company and account number, and then select “Yes” to continue
- Your billing company is now registered
Pay a bill steps:
- Select “Bill Payments” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
- Select “Pay a Bill”
- Enter bill payment details
- The amount you want to pay
- The billing company
- The account you want to use to pay the bill
- The frequency of payments
- Select “Next” to proceed
- Verify the bill payment details and select “Yes” to continue
- Your bill is now successfully paid

Transfer money between accounts
Mobile steps:
- Sign on to the app
- Select “Transfer Funds” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
- Enter the transfer details such as the amount, the account you want to transfer
- The amount you’d like to transfer
- The account you want to transfer the money from
- The account you want to transfer the money into
- The frequency and date for the transfer
- Select “Next” to continue
- Verify the transfer details and select “Yes” to continue
- Your transfer is now successfully complete
Online steps:
- Sign on to your account through online banking
- Select "Transfers"
- Enter the transfer details
- The account you want to transfer the money from
- The account you want to transfer the money into
- The amount you’d like to transfer
- The frequency and date for the transfer
- Select “Continue” to proceed
- Verify the transfer details and select “Confirm” to continue
- Your transfer is now successfully complete

Print a statement
What you'll need
- To view or save an eStatement as a PDF, you’ll need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader® Opens in a new window..
Mobile steps:
- Sign on to the app
- Select “My Accounts”
- Select the account you’d like to view or print a statement of
- Select the “Account Info” tab
- Select “View eStatements”
- Select the month and year of the statement you’d like to view or print
- Select “Continue” to proceed
- Use your device setting to print – this will likely vary between iOS and Android and will require you to have a printer set up to your mobile device.
Select the top 3 dots on the right-hand corner (depending on the device)
- Once you have selected the statement you would like to print, select the share button (a square with an arrow pointing up).
- Select print
- Select a printer
- Select print on the top right corner
Online steps:
- Sign on to your account through online banking
- Select “Account Summary”
- Select the account you’d like to view or print a statement of
- Select “View eStatements”
- Select the statement PDF for the month you’d like to view or print
- Open the downloaded document
- Select “Print” or the printer icon

Make a credit card payment
Mobile steps:
- Sign on to the app
- Select “Bill Payments” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
- Select “Manage Billing Companies”
- Select “Add Billing Company”
- Enter “Simplii” as your billing company and select “Search”
- Select the Simplii Visa* from the search results
- Enter your credit card number in the "Account Number" field, then select "Next"
- Make sure the payee information is correct, then select "Yes"
Note: If you only have a credit card with Simplii, you’ll need to add it as a bill payment on your non-Simplii bank account.
Online steps:
- Sign on to your account through online banking
- Select "Pay Bills"
- Select “Add/Edit Bill”
- Enter “Simplii” as your billing company and select “Search”
- Select the Simplii Visa* from the search results
- Enter your credit card number in the “Account Number” field, and then select “Next”
- Make sure the payee information is correct, and then select "Confirm"
Note: If you only have a credit card with Simplii, you’ll need to add it as a bill payment on your non-Simplii bank account.

Set up balance alerts
Mobile steps:
- Sign on to the app
- Select “Manage My Alerts” from the menu
- Use the toggle to turn an alert on or off
- You can choose to receive a notification by email, text message or push notification once an alert is turned on
- To keep your changes, select “Save”
Online steps:
- Sign on to online banking
- Select “Manage My Alerts” from the menu
- Turn each alert on or off by selecting or unselecting the check box
- You can choose to receive a notification by email, text message or push notification once an alert is turned on
- To keep your changes, select “Save”
