Deposit a cheque

What you'll need

  • A Simplii Financial bank account
  • The latest version of the Simplii mobile banking app
  • An endorsed cheque in Canadian dollars on which the name must match the one we have on file for this account

Mobile steps:

  1. Sign the back of the cheque and write “For deposit only”
  2. Sign on to the app
  3. Select “Mobile Deposits” from the top mobile carousel or “eDeposit” from the menu located on the left
  4. Use your phone's camera to take photos of your cheque
    1. Lay your cheque on a flat surface
    2. Take a photo of the front of the cheque
    3. Take a photo of the back of the cheque
  5. Confirm the amount of the cheque and select the account you’d like to deposit the money in
  6. Select “Next” and verify the details
  7. Mark the front of your cheque as, “Paid,” when you’re done and keep your cheque for at least 5 days and destroy within 120 days

Pay a bill

Add a payee steps:

  1. Sign on to your account through online banking
  2. Select “Pay Bills”
  3. Select “Add/Edit Bills”
    1. Search for the name of the company you want to pay
    2. Select the company from the list of results
  4. Enter the billing company’s account number and select “Next” to continue
  5. Verify the billing company and account number, and then select “Confirm” to continue
  6. Your billing company is now registered

Pay a bill steps:

  1. Select “Pay Bills”
  2. Select the Billing Company that you want to pay
  3. Enter the amount you want to pay and select “Continue” 
  4. Verify the bill payment details and select “Confirm” to continue
  5. Your bill is now paid

Mobile

Add a payee steps:

  1. Sign on to the app
  2. Select “Bill Payments” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
  3. Select “Manage Billing Companies”
  4. Select “Add Billing Company”
    1. Search the name of the company you want to pay
    2. Select the company from the list of results
  5. Enter the billing company’s account number and select “Next” to continue
  6. Verify the billing company and account number, and then select “Yes” to continue
  7. Your billing company is now registered

Pay a bill steps:

  1. Select “Bill Payments” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
  2. Select “Pay a Bill”
  3. Enter bill payment details
    1. The amount you want to pay
    2. The billing company
    3. The account you want to use to pay the bill
    4. The frequency of payments
    5. Select “Next” to proceed
  4. Verify the bill payment details and select “Yes” to continue
  5. Your bill is now successfully paid

Transfer money between accounts

Mobile steps:

  1. Sign on to the app
  2. Select “Transfer Funds” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
  3. Enter the transfer details such as the amount, the account you want to transfer
    1. The amount you’d like to transfer
    2. The account you want to transfer the money from
    3. The account you want to transfer the money into
    4. The frequency and date for the transfer
    5. Select “Next” to continue
  4. Verify the transfer details and select “Yes” to continue
  5. Your transfer is now successfully complete

Online steps:

  1. Sign on to your account through online banking
  2. Select "Transfers"
  3. Enter the transfer details
    1. The account you want to transfer the money from
    2. The account you want to transfer the money into
    3. The amount you’d like to transfer
    4. The frequency and date for the transfer
    5. Select “Continue” to proceed
  4. Verify the transfer details and select “Confirm” to continue
  5. Your transfer is now successfully complete

Print a statement

What you'll need

Mobile steps:

  1. Sign on to the app
  2. Select “My Accounts”  
  3. Select the account you’d like to view or print a statement of
  4. Select the “Account Info” tab
  5. Select “View eStatements”
  6. Select the month and year of the statement you’d like to view or print
  7. Select “Continue” to proceed
  8. Use your device setting to print – this will likely vary between iOS and Android and will require you to have a printer set up to your mobile device.

Select the top 3 dots on the right-hand corner (depending on the device)

  1. Once you have selected the statement you would like to print, select the share button (a square with an arrow pointing up).
  2. Select print
  3. Select a printer
  4. Select print on the top right corner

Online steps:

  1. Sign on to your account through online banking 
  2. Select “Account Summary” 
  3. Select the account you’d like to view or print a statement of
  4. Select “View eStatements” 
  5. Select the statement PDF for the month you’d like to view or print
  6. Open the downloaded document
  7. Select “Print” or the printer icon

Make a credit card payment

Mobile steps:

  1. Sign on to the app
  2. Select “Bill Payments” from the top mobile carousel or the menu located on the left
  3. Select “Manage Billing Companies”
  4. Select “Add Billing Company”
  5. Enter “Simplii” as your billing company and select “Search”
  6. Select the Simplii Visa* from the search results
  7. Enter your credit card number in the "Account Number" field, then select "Next"
  8. Make sure the payee information is correct, then select "Yes"

Note: If you only have a credit card with Simplii, you’ll need to add it as a bill payment on your non-Simplii bank account.

Online steps:

  1. Sign on to your account through online banking
  2. Select "Pay Bills" 
  3. Select “Add/Edit Bill”

Set up balance alerts

Mobile steps:

  1. Sign on to the app
  2. Select “Manage My Alerts” from the menu
  3. Use the toggle to turn an alert on or off
  4. You can choose to receive a notification by email, text message or push notification once an alert is turned on
  5. To keep your changes, select “Save”

Online steps:

  1. Sign on to online banking
  2. Select “Manage My Alerts” from the menu
  3. Turn each alert on or off by selecting or unselecting the check box
  4. You can choose to receive a notification by email, text message or push notification once an alert is turned on
  5. To keep your changes, select “Save”
